These shrubs/small trees are native here and are plentiful in the woods around our house and throughout the Great Smoky Mountains. They are spectacular this time of year, and range in color variations of yellow, orange, coral and red. They bloom from April through June, depending on elevation. This one is in our backyard and is at least 12′ tall. It’s gorgeous right now, and you can see why they’re called “Flame” azaleas.
