Trees

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came.
The Chestnuts, Oaks and Maples,
And leaves of every name.

The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

–

–

–

The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses maple
In scarlet looked their best.

–

–

All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.

–

  
The leaves are changing early this year.

–

October Color

Although the mountains have not yet reached peak color (that usually happens around the first week of November here), in the sunny areas, the leaf color is beautiful right now. Here are a few snapshots I have taken this week, click to enlarge.

Colorful and curvy road

This curvy road near my house winds around the edges of the lake where I live. There’s not much traffic here this time of year, especially during weekdays, and it is very secluded. Taking a short drive down this road a couple of days ago, the color was so bright and pretty that I had to stop and take photos.. many photos. Here are a few.
