With temps in the mid to upper 90’s and sweltering humidity, this white hot sun is about all I’ve been seeing in the sky for the past several days.

For such a hot and sunny day you captured the sky and clouds so nicely. Only going to be in the 70’s today in Colorado Springs.
Hi Tommy V, temps in the 70’s sounds very nice right now. We’ve been in the 90s for many days now.
Check out that star light! Fantastic shot! Thanks for stopping by Photonic Harmony.
I agree with that these are really nice for such a hot day–here most of the time when it is this hot, there is always a haze in the distance.
The skies you have are so very clear. Wonderful to see. I enjoy looking at clouds when the sun is behind them lighting them up like this.
Sherry: Those a some wonderful Skies for SWF.
oooo – nice capture! Happy SWF!
Lovely sw shots!
Beautiful Sky Watch! Your weather sounds a lot like ours here, except we did get showers yesterday afternoon and this morning — not that they did anything to cool us off. More like creating a sauna!
The weather sounds pretty familiar to me. I’m getting pretty tired of it.
Your pictures are both stunning. The firstk of course, is so dramatic.
Sherry, these are very impressive!! It has been extremely hot here as well for the last 3 weeks. I am looking forward to the cooler months, that is for sure!!
Lovey hot August shots!! I have hot July sunset in my post!!!
Petunia’s SWF
Photonic Harmony, thanks, and I enjoyed your beautiful sunrays photo.
Thanks Rose, the mtns were hot and hazy in the distance, the Smokies almost always look hazy here.
Hi Julie, I do like to capture the rays like that.
Fishing Guy, dlyn, Mrs Darcy, thanks for visiting. :)
Hi Patricia, no rain here in several days. I wish we would get some, things are really drying out in this heat.
Bobbie, I get pretty tired of the heat and humidity too sometimes, then I think about winter… :)
Hi Rocky Mtn Retreat (Michelle), I won’t mind when it cools down just a little bit. :)
Petunia, your hot July sunset is really beautiful!
-Sherry
It may be hot iutdi=oors but it’s also beautiful. ;-)
i love getting beautiful photos, just like yours with a sun in the lens. and in the second photo, i see the rays coming from the clouds! what a beauty!
These are all gorgeous photos! The clouds and sun rays are beautiful!
Sweltering heat usually means a plain grayish blue sky without the clouds.
I love the first shot – very dramatic.
Strong white clouds, but who is the desingner for this monuments
Eg Tour Guide, Rachel, Kelly, Carletta, torsdag, thank you all for your visits and comments. I’m looking forward to getting around to visiting all your blogs. :)

My goodness, you can feel the heat looking at these pictures. I really like the flares you captured in the first one and the rays coming from behind the clouds on the second one.
Have a wonderful weekend of beautiful skies!
My Sky Watch Photos are posted Here and Here

Beautiful skies! Good catch with thr rays!
Cheers, Klaus
I can empathize with you on that white hot sun but it’s is so beautiful.
I don’t envy your weather, but your pictures are beautiful!
Glorious day, fantastic capture.

We’ve been seeing a lot of those white hot sunny days here too. Amazing shots!
Wow your skys are lovely. I love the way it the sun is peaking out and making the cloud just shine. Great Shot.
Beautiful shots. That first one is especially gorgeous. Feels like you can see the heat in the photos. Strange we are having almost fall-like weather here. Seems more like September than August.
Yes, those are hot skies! Maybe you should visit my Wordless Wednesday post from this past week and cool off in a virtual pool. I’m sweating just looking at that beating sun.
Wonderful the way you captured the sun in that sky! Very beautiful!
Thank you for your comment on mySWF. The pictures with the summersky are very beautiful. I can sense the humidity, because we get the same sort of sky with those billowing cushions on hot days usually ending with a storm and shower.) I do like the shy african daisy, very pretty picture. Your summer flora is familiar to mine warm climate plants.
Hi aka Jen, thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!
Thanks , Catia and Klaus. :)
Hi Carver, sounds like it’s hot in your area too. I wouldn’t mind a bit cooler temps and less humidity — not too much though, I do love summer.
Thanks Louise, ewok1993, Brenda, and Ellyn!
Hi Raven, I heard we are supposed to have a bit of a cool down by the weekend. I’m not ready for Fall yet though!
Leora, I’ll definitely check out your virtual pool — sounds cool! :)
Thanks Mary, and titania– yes, it was definitely humid when I took those shots. We’ve had thunder rolling around us most every evening in this heat, but very little rain. The storms have missed us for the past week or so. Glad you liked the daisy photo too. :)

What a lovely sunburst :-)
I can just hear God speaking… holy cow!
Love the sunrays and what beautiful colours. Magic. Happy SWF.
Very nice.
the first shot is particularly clever – like a diamond showering light!
Love the brilliant white cloud. Can you send some of your heat down here. It’s cold!

nice pics i like them all. great swf have a nice weekend
Beautiful hot skies.
What a sunny august :)
much as I’d love here some warmer weather than we have been having, I’d soon complain if it was too hot.
Beautiful photos! The second one with the sun’s rays emanating from behind the cloud is awesome!
Great shots Sherry, i really love the top one with the star….
It’s a pleasure to see these shots.. bot are well worthy of the praises the comments hold.
Very pretty!!
nice shots of the sky!
Your rays are super, too. I love the sun behind clouds, and being able to “see” what we might normally take for granted. Have a great day!
Wow, these are great! Love the way you captured the rays. Beautiful!
Beautiful shots! I love the starburst sun shot!
wow! gorgeous skies, you have an excellent captured of rays.. so fabulous, have a nice weekend..
Oh wow, do I ever like the pictures. The rays are so intense in the first, and very subtle but there in the second. Lovely. Wow, I didn’t know that stuff about ads on wordpress. I had no idea. HMMMM. And wouldn’t it be a good idea if folks routinely placed their country and or state in the post so every one would know where they were? I’ll certainly be back Sherry!
Very beautiful photos!!
Hi Sherry, those skies are beautiful! They put mine in poor company with the pre-storm cloudy sunrise. Thank you for looking at them and being nice about them.
I read your 10 things post, I’m with you on the digital photos. I have 12,023 of them on this computer. I wore my first camera, a Kodak pretty well out, the last posted picture was # 8969. The kids gave me a new little Sony, I’ve put # 3054 on the computer now. :-)
..
Hi Jim, I liked your sunrise and pre-stormy skies this week.
Over 12000 photos? It’s an addiction I can definitely relate to.. lol
Thank you for visiting. :)

Lovely pictures, Sherry. Beautiful sunburst in the first photo.
These are gorgeous skies.
Thanks for the comment on my SWF!
The last one is really beatiful, with the clouds silver ring shining so brightly! Happy sky watch!
thanks piedmontperspective, Ladynred, and system operator. Happy Sky Watch to you all! :)
These are brilliant in texture and design. I know exactly of which you speak. i really like the many moods.
Thank you, Quietpaths. The sky does have many moods.
Stunning photos – I just love the sun rays that you’ve managed to capture!
So sorry I missed thanking you for the lovely Sky Watch comment you left on my blog the week before last. I’ve just been catching up on things and hope that you’ll take a moment to stop by and see my contribution from last week too!
Hi Shirley, thank you for stopping by, and I’ll visit soon and see your Sky Watch too! I’ve been away for a few days and am far behind on my visits.
