We reached 90 degrees here today! After more than a week of these unusually hot temps, it is extremely dry here and I had to get out and water all the flower beds today. I have also planted quite a few new perennials, including heuchera, astilbe, brunnera and hardy geraniums and all of those new plantings needed watering as well. To think that only a few days ago, I was impatient for the flowers to start blooming — everything seems to be in bloom now after several days of sunshine.

We’re supposed to cool down to the 70s by the end of the week. Maybe it will feel like spring then instead of early summer.
