Jericho cancelled

March 21, 2008

Jericho, cbs.comWell, crap. What a shame. I really loved this show! The nuts campaign got us only 6 new episodes this season.. From what I’ve read, it seems there’s a little hope that the series could get picked up by a cable network. I hope so. Jericho was a show focusing on the aftermath of nuclear bombs throughout the United States, and centered around the people living in the small town of Jericho, Kansas. I enjoyed this show, and never missed an episode. The final episode will air this coming Tuesday night.

(CBS) “Jericho” has been canceled, and no amount of peanuts will bring it back.

“The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale,” CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. “Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more.”

…Producers hedged their bets by shooting two alternate endings to the final show, which airs Tuesday.

One is a cliffhanger that could have led to a third season and the other ending is said to bring “closure” to fans.

Jericho reminder, season premiere tonite

February 12, 2008

The highly anticipated second season of Jericho begins tonite! Seven new episodes will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, ET/PT beginning Feb. 12 on CBS. Be sure and watch this great show, and see why its cancellation last year prompted one of the biggest fan campaigns in history to save a tv show!

From CBS Entertainment:

Dear Rangers,

We have some exciting news and wanted you to hear it first. Later today we will announce Jericho’s return to CBS’s primetime schedule. Seven new episodes will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, ET/PT beginning Feb. 12.

We hope you will rally around the new episodes of Jericho with the same passion and volume you displayed this summer to bring the show back. The writers and producers have crafted an exciting second season that picks up immediately following the battle with New Bern, as the town begins the rebuilding process, and along the way discovers why their small community is so important to the newly formed government, and what the true intentions of this new government might be.

In success, there is the potential for more Jericho, but we will need your help to recruit new viewers. For your friends or family who have never seen the show, the entire first season can be seen on CBS.com, or on the recently released Season One DVD set.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for your continued support of Jericho.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler
President, CBS Entertainment

Dog treats at wal-mart tainted with melamine

August 22, 2007

In July, Wal-mart received complaints from customers that two specific brands of dog treats, Chicken Jerky Strips from Import-Pingyang Pet Product Co. and Chicken Jerky from Shanghai Bestro Trading, had made their dogs sick. The company began testing the products in question, and their tests have revealed the presence of melamine in these products. This is the same chemical that was found in so many dog and cat food products earlier this year, and resulted in the largest petfood recall in history. Although there isn’t yet an official recall, Wal-mart has pulled the two dog treat products from their shelves. Further tests will be completed, and U.S. customers are advised to stop feeding their dogs these products, and to return the products to wal-mart for a refund.
