Here are some photos from the past couple of weeks of just a few of the many annual flowers I have in bloom right now:

I was late getting this area around the patio planted this year, and there wasn’t much left to choose from. My local nurseries all seem to have the same supply of bedding plants— marigolds, ageratum, petunias, portulaca, and begonias… but, it’s filling in nicely now (photo taken in late May).

I really love these bubblegum supertunias and have pots of them everywhere. It’s the best petunia I’ve ever grown.

Light yellow petunias I grew from seed, I have them in a container with purple angelonia (also grown from seed).

Mixed color sunpatiens along the front of a long border, with Japanese Iris, Malva, Blazing Stars, Glads and more in the background. I have Scarlet Runners on the obelisk now. Also, in this photo, notice the purple asters blooming — I had mums and asters in bloom in May!

Mixed annuals, including coleus grown from seed, pinks, Persian Shield, petunias, fuchsia, begonias.

Your outdoor seated area is so inviting and immensely colorful. Love everything about it.
thanks, Christine. I do enjoy sitting out there in the late evening after the sun goes down. It’s way too hot the rest of the day, this time of year anyway.
From your seating area (picture a clock) what is the Shrub at one o’clock. It looks like one that was growing here at this rental 10yrs ago. One year it got so tall and bushed out that it covered the neon Open sign in the window so the property owner had his handy man cut it back and it acted like it was going to grow again next year but it never made it. Nobody around here knew what it was in fact some nursery’s use to send people by to view it and or my Dark Royal Iris. There are many plants that pop up from time to time here that I have never seen before and I spend a lot of time searching the Web. Love your web site.
Hi Stephen,
Do you mean the one with the purple blooms? If so, that is a hydrangea shrub. It started out pink, but over the years is gradually turning blue in our acid soil here. The pink blooms a little more to the right in the photo are supertunia ‘Bubblegum’ flowers, in a hanging pot on a pole.
Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoy the site. :)
