Beautiful weather here for the past few days with lots of sunshine and very warm temps, lots of stuff blooming in the garden now. The first tulip opened up yesterday, early I think. Lots more tulips to come (what the deer haven’t eaten!). My bridal wreath spireas are almost at peak bloom, Jack Frost brunneras are blooming (also early), lungwort, lots of daffodils… Here are a few snapshots of some of the recent blooms. In contrast, the first daffodil has opened up in my yard! And that’s very early as well. I am in great need to buy/plant tons more of them. They are the only thing so far that are reliably vole/deer resistant for me. All tiger/daylilies broke ground a while ago and are feverishly taking every warm sunny day to grow as much as possible. Little bits of greenery are making an appearance all over the yard. As usual, I can’t remember exactly which bulbs I planted last Fall. I didn’t save the tag. Grrrr!
Hi Jim,
Glad to hear your garden is coming alive too! I love spring, love seeing the little bits of greenery coming up everywhere.
I know what you mean — I too often (almost always actually) forget to save the tag and then can’t remember what’s planted where.. lol
Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures Sherry.. I’m ready for some color up here and with temps in the mid 70s last week and low 80s next week it won’t be long and we’ll have it….
Hi Spider,
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed them. :)
With temps like you’re getting, you’ll be seeing some color up there soon. 70s and 80s here too, lots of sunshine and evening thunderstorms just like summer…
Truly delicious. Each and every one of these! We have snow on the ground this morning but eventually I’ll have to go out and uncover my lungwort. Gorgeous, Sherry. You’ve brightened my day with all the color.
Thanks, Christine. Oh no, I hate to even think of snow.. we didn’t get any this past winter at all, and now it’s already feeling like late spring. Here’s hoping you start getting some warm spring weather too.
Beautiful photos. Love the bridal wreath Spirea and Jack Frost Brunnera, both of which I used to grow. They are so lacy and delicate looking.
Thanks, Lana. I love them too, that spirea looks like a white cloud right now and the brunneras are covered in the little blue flowers. So pretty!
