The wild asters and other fall wildflowers are blooming, the leaves are changing and the woods are getting more and more colorful these days. In my garden, the mums and asters are definitely the standouts right now.

These mums are in an urn at my front steps.

These Clara Curtis daisies (Chrysanthemum x rubellum)
have been in bloom repeatedly since June. They also spread quite a bit.

This wild aster volunteered in one of my flower beds this year.
I let it stay, and am being rewarded with hundreds of purple blooms.

always love the lavender and purple asters, if I could only keep the voles from eating every aster. I’m trying Alma Potchke for a second year, fighting the voles along the way. Our old garden mums are just now starting to bloom. I need more, lots more!
Jim, you need a cat to take care of the voles! lol
I know what you mean, every year when the mums start blooming, I always think the same thing — I need more.

I do believe I was nearly blinded when those photos loaded! wow! So lovely.
Thanks Christine. The mums and asters are indeed colorful right now. They’re competing with the rapidly changing colors in the woods now though!
