This one gets about 3 feet tall, flowers as big as dinner plates. I have it in the slope bed above the gazebo. Easy to grow, gorgeous right now.

Big as dinner plates?? That is fantastic. You must be really enjoying your garden right now. Holy cow~the only thing that grows as large as dinner plates around here are bears…
LOL Christine, they are HUGE! Seriously, the flowers are about 7″ in diameter, so big they look fake.
I am enjoying the garden right now, if it just wasn’t so hot. We’ve had such a hot and humid summer here, we always do, but I think this is the worst one we’ve had as far back as I can remember. It’s been hot here since April. I stay out as long as I can stand it then head indoors for the AC.
Thanks for visiting,
Sherry
Wow Sherry this looks really cool, in all of the pictures you have posted over the years this is the first time for this big guy… I am glad to hear that you run for the AC when needed… It’s been really hot and very humid here as well… Even with the 9.5 inches of rain that fell last week in 24 hours didn’t do anything to help with this darn humidity… Going to cool down tomorrow, yup only 88, it’ll feel like fall………… I love reading your post so keep them coming…
Hi Spider,
Thanks. You’re right, I don’t think I have ever posted a photo of this particular hibiscus. I have posted pics of the red ones I think.
I definitely am spending more time in the house with the AC lately, I just can’t stand it outside when it’s almost a hundred degrees and the humidity is at 85% (even at night!). We haven’t had much rain at all lately, just a short torrential downpour during a storm a few days ago that knocked all the flowers down.
Oh, I still don’t wanna think about fall yet! :)
(hope you had a nice vacation!)
Stay cool,
Sherry
