After a few more days of rain, we finally had a warm and sunny day today, with a temperature of around 80 degrees. The warm sunshine brought the bees and sulphur butterflies to my still-blooming flowers. (We have so many of these sulphur butterflies here right now. I counted more than a dozen of them in the yard today!) The leaves in the woods are nearing peak color now, especially those around the edges of the yard that are in full sun, and the maple trees are exceptionally pretty. Click photos to enlarge.

Beautiful pictures Sherry, It looks like I’ll have to enjoy your fall colors now as the heavy rain and strong winds left my trees cold and naked…
Thanks, Spider. We have had SO much rain here too!
You keep your leaves for a good long while down there. How vibrant can it get? Nature’s big color bust before winter…
Hi Christine,
We usually don’t reach peak color until sometime in November — we have lost a lot of leaves early this year due to the constant rain we have had for weeks. Still a lot of color though.
