In addition to all the containers I have everywhere right now, my flower beds are also in full bloom. We have had a lot of rain this spring so it hasn’t been too difficult to take care of everything so far. 
(Except for my constant battle with slugs in my flower beds, but that’s another story.) It is getting hotter every day now though and I expect I will soon be kept busy watering and caring for all these flowers. Here are some photos I have taken over the past couple of weeks, click on any of them to view a larger version.
Below is one end of a long curved border I have along the fence line at the edge of the yard. This used to be several smaller beds, but last year I connected them all into one long flower bed. I have a large section of bishop’s weed (contained with edging), and my large snowball viburnum is also in this bed. The snowball provides a shady spot in the middle of the bed and this is ideal for a section of mixed color impatiens.

This is a newly planted double red Knockout rose in a new, curved flower bed in a sunny area below the gazebo. I like it so much that I’m going to plant an entire row of them along this border.

The pink astilbes and forget-me-nots in the secret garden have now finished their bloom, while mixed annuals, coneflowers and shasta daisies in the yard are just coming in to full bloom. I have planted several variegated hostas this year in the secret garden and they are also growing well.

Below is a triangle-shaped corner flower bed I have at one end of the back deck. This bed has a large section of orange daylilies in full bloom above it, with shasta daisies, tiki torch and purple coneflowers, bubblegum supertunias, potted dwarf zinnias grown late in the spring from seed and black eyed susans not yet in bloom.

I have white calla lilies blooming right now in a new flower bed along the privacy fence, and some new dwarf callas blooming in the rock wall bed, given to me this spring by a family member. (Thanks Deborah!) I absolutely love these little calla lilies with their gorgeous mauve pink color and variegated, speckled foliage.

Hopefully, this summer will not be as dry as it was here last year. But, even with adequate rainfall, with temperatures here getting hotter and hotter every day (mid-90s this weekend), not to mention the droves of Japanese Beetles that are already here, I am sure I will be very busy over the next 3 and a half months or so keeping all these flowers watered and cared for in our heat and humidity!
