The butterfly bush attracts a lot of insects and birds like the hummingbird find it nice.
I have mine up at Canon Pixels. I hope you can see it if you have the time.
So beautiful purple blossom flower.
Though Paz from New York has asked its name around.
This is the first time I see such flower. So beautiful!
My flower for today is posted here. Please take a look if you have time. Have a great week ahead!
So colourful and pretty!!!
A wonderful photograph of a beautiful flower. I love its multi-colors.
Oh yes, this IS a butterfly bush, I remember it from my childhood, we had it in our garden, we spent DAYS/WEEKS with watching the butterfly bush, catching butterflies and smelling its wonderful fragrance. Even to today, I get high when I see the flowers and smell the fragrance. :)
Hi, Sherry
His choice was perfect and wonderfully beautiful, this flower is very elegant and exuberant, good work and congratulations on beautiful post.
I thank you for sharing.
hugs, Denise
This is unknown to me and I am captivated. Just beautiful in all its varied colors on the same theme. Is it related at all to lilac – I guess I will go investigate. thanks for this post.
Hi Quietpaths,
I don’t think it’s related to lilacs. It’s of the Buddleia family, and is known simply as Butterfly Bush. It blooms all summer long and they get very large here, mine are almost evergreen and I prune them every few years. They attracts TONS of butterflies and hummingbirds. There are several colors of them now, probably the most common is white. Thanks for your comments. :)
I was going to say I’ve never seen that color before, but when I read the caption, I realize you’ve posted it before, but I do not remember it being as purple. Still beautiful.
Oh how beautiful and what a fabulous photograph of this beauty! Well done…
That is beautiful! I don’t think I’ve seen a bi-color one before! Nice photo!
What a beauty! I love the color and the name.
Paz
That is one of the prettiest colored butterfly bushes I’ve ever seen! I didn’t think I’d ever get into your blog.
Hi Dot,
I’m sorry you had trouble getting into my blog. I’m not sure why you did, unless wordpress had some sort of problem. Anyhow, I’m glad you got here, and thanks for your comments. :)

I have never seen the flowers of this plant up close and I had no idea they ever had the “butterscotch” color inside. Next time I see one, I’ll take a closer look. Thanks for a lovely shot, and thanks for visiting my blog (and the compliment!).
Beautiful! And what colours nature mixes and it’s always right.
Your post is marvelous!

What a lovely butterfly bush!
Sherry: I need one of these to attact the butterflies. does it work well?
Hi Fishing Guy, it attracts more butterflies and hummingbirds than any other plant I have. There are literally dozens of butterflies all over this bush (especially my white one) every day, all summer.
wonderful flowers
That’s a fun-looking plant… a veritable snack shop for butterflies, eh?
Great shot of beautifulflower!
