With temps in the mid to upper 90’s and sweltering humidity, this white hot sun is about all I’ve been seeing in the sky for the past several days.

For such a hot and sunny day you captured the sky and clouds so nicely. Only going to be in the 70’s today in Colorado Springs.

  2. Sherry Says:

Hi Tommy V, temps in the 70’s sounds very nice right now. We’ve been in the 90s for many days now.

  3. Photonic Harmony Says:

Check out that star light! Fantastic shot! Thanks for stopping by Photonic Harmony.

  4. Rose Says:

I agree with that these are really nice for such a hot day–here most of the time when it is this hot, there is always a haze in the distance.

  5. Julie Says:

The skies you have are so very clear. Wonderful to see. I enjoy looking at clouds when the sun is behind them lighting them up like this.

  6. Fishing Guy Says:

  9. Patricia Says:

Beautiful Sky Watch! Your weather sounds a lot like ours here, except we did get showers yesterday afternoon and this morning — not that they did anything to cool us off. More like creating a sauna!

  10. Bobbie Says:

The weather sounds pretty familiar to me. I’m getting pretty tired of it.
Your pictures are both stunning. The firstk of course, is so dramatic.

  11. The Rocky Mountain Retreat Says:

Photonic Harmony, thanks, and I enjoyed your beautiful sunrays photo.

Thanks Rose, the mtns were hot and hazy in the distance, the Smokies almost always look hazy here.

Hi Julie, I do like to capture the rays like that.

Fishing Guy, dlyn, Mrs Darcy, thanks for visiting. :)

Hi Patricia, no rain here in several days. I wish we would get some, things are really drying out in this heat.

Bobbie, I get pretty tired of the heat and humidity too sometimes, then I think about winter… :)

Hi Rocky Mtn Retreat (Michelle), I won’t mind when it cools down just a little bit. :)

Petunia, your hot July sunset is really beautiful!

  17. Carletta Says:

Sweltering heat usually means a plain grayish blue sky without the clouds.
I love the first shot - very dramatic.

  18. torsdag Says:

Strong white clouds, but who is the desingner for this monuments

  19. Sherry Says:

  29. Leora Says:

Yes, those are hot skies! Maybe you should visit my Wordless Wednesday post from this past week and cool off in a virtual pool. I’m sweating just looking at that beating sun.

  30. Mary Says:

Wonderful the way you captured the sun in that sky! Very beautiful!

  31. titania Says:

Thank you for your comment on mySWF. The pictures with the summersky are very beautiful. I can sense the humidity, because we get the same sort of sky with those billowing cushions on hot days usually ending with a storm and shower.) I do like the shy african daisy, very pretty picture. Your summer flora is familiar to mine warm climate plants.

  32. Sherry Says:

Hi aka Jen, thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

Thanks , Catia and Klaus. :)

Hi Carver, sounds like it’s hot in your area too. I wouldn’t mind a bit cooler temps and less humidity — not too much though, I do love summer.

Thanks Louise, ewok1993, Brenda, and Ellyn!

Hi Raven, I heard we are supposed to have a bit of a cool down by the weekend. I’m not ready for Fall yet though!

Leora, I’ll definitely check out your virtual pool — sounds cool! :)

Thanks Mary, and titania– yes, it was definitely humid when I took those shots. We’ve had thunder rolling around us most every evening in this heat, but very little rain. The storms have missed us for the past week or so. Glad you liked the daisy photo too. :)

HMMMM. And wouldn’t it be a good idea if folks routinely placed their country and or state in the post so every one would know where they were? I’ll certainly be back Sherry!
