Pink astilbes

My astilbes, also known as False Goat’s Beard, are blooming in the Secret Garden. I love these bright feathery flowers. These are great plants for shady, moist areas and they do well in fertile, peaty soil. I had several of these plants, but lost two large clumps due to the severe drought we had last summer.

Wow … your secret garden is so colourful!

    Hi Quint,

I do have a little color in the secret garden. I try not to have -too- much bright color there since I want it to be green and serene, but I have the astilbes and a few other plants with flowers right now.

    Thanks for stopping by. :)

I had this in the garden once, I didn’t reconise it in the top picture but the bottom one was just the same.. never knew the name of it.

    Hi Tom,

They are nice big plants, aren’t they? I love their feathery flowers.
    Thanks for visiting. :)

I love astilbes, but I have a hard time pronouncing the word. I have so many in my garden, which by the way I love your secret garden! I have white and pink. We have gardens in common!

    Hi Sandy,

We do have gardens in common. :)

I love astilbes too (they do have a strange name.. lol), and I think I’m going to get some white ones to plant alongside the pink in the secret garden. I’m sure yours are beautiful, pink and white makes such a nice combination.

    Thanks for visiting.
