An accidental shot

I was focused on the flower and trying to adjust the polarizer, and this little butterfly flew into the frame just as I snapped the photo. I didn’t even realize I had captured it until I reviewed the photo!

Wow, this is so amazing! I wouldn’t believe at first that this was an accidental shot, the butterfly is so sharp and in the perfect position! Congratulations.

I got one like this before (i.e. accidental) when a bee flew in. but it was nothing like this shot.

    Cheers

Thank you, David. I saw the butterfly right after I took the shot but had no idea I had captured it in that position. I was surprised to see it in focus like that. I truly appreciate your comments a lot — I am in absolute awe of your photography!

What a great time for it to fly into shot… I am so used to it happening the other way..

Sherry I’m actually a little surprised that this doesn’t happen more often with you because your yard must be over flowing with flowers which will attract a lot of butterflies… I might not see more then one a year myself and that’s usually on the grill of my car…. LOL

Great shot of the butterfly and the flowers too..

  5. Sherry Says:

Me too, Tom. The butterfly was the one with the perfect timing — I would probably never have captured it in that exact position if I had been trying to!

lol Spider, you need to go somewhere where there’s lots of flowers so you’ll see a butterfly that’s not on the grill of your car!

I do have a lot of butterflies here, and it’s funny that when I wasn’t even trying to capture one, I got it.

Thank you both for visiting. :)
