Now that the snowball bush is finishing up it’s bloom (and dropping petals that look like snow on the lawn), the rhododendrons are the standouts in my yard right now. I have several native white ones that will bloom later on and a couple of bright pink ones in full bloom now. The largest pink one is especially pretty in my shrub border. This is a narrow pathway at one corner of my yard that leads around to the side yard area where the pool is. I have many evergreens and other large shrubs lining both sides of the stepping stones, providing a hidden pathway and privacy for the pool and deck area. The rhododendron and pink azalea still in bloom right now add a lot of color to this border.
