This rainbow was definitely good news for us this evening. We had very light rain for a couple of hours late today, not much, but better than none. We are just under eleven inches below normal rainfall for the year. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, we are now in the D4 “exceptional” category, which is beyond moderate, severe, or extreme drought conditions, and is considered a 1 in 50 year occurrence. Wells and springs and creeks are drying up here; trees, shrubs, flowers… everything is suffering during this severe drought.

Wow even a little rain helps, but hope there’s more soon! pretty rainbow pic. maybe the rainbow will bring good luck>>lots of rain!!
Same here. Big sigh… 90′s this week. Very odd. Hang in there.
I love the rainbow picture. Hopefully as Leeann said, it will bring good luck. It was dry where I live for awhile this summer. But, we have had plenty of rain lately. Maybe now you will too.
Thanks Leeann, yes we are glad for even a little, but at this point, we need rain for days and days.. we are back to a more than eleven inch deficit again.
Hi Mary, will it ever end? Such strange weather.. it still feels like July and it’s October! The weather forecast says there’s a chance of a thunderstorm Tuesday evening — hope we both get some rain out of it.
I hope so, Jolynna. That little shower the other day that produced the rainbow didn’t amount to even a quarter inch here, and the temps are supposed to be record-breaking tomorrow — around 90 with high humidity. I’ve never before seen it so dry. I’m glad you are getting plenty of rain in your area, and I surely hope we start getting some soon too… Thank you for visiting. :)
