These are some photos I took in and around my yard over the last couple of days. Everything is in full bloom right now. All photos have been reduced and optimized for smaller file size. Click photos for larger versions.

The roses have been blooming abundantly for more than 6 weeks now. I don’t think they’ve ever been as pretty as they are this year.

I crowded two of these large containers with annuals a few weeks ago, one on either side of the concrete walkway at the side of the house. Now they are absolutely filled with flowers and are really pretty.

This is the second container of annuals, on the opposite side of the walkway, in full bloom. This container is below the fern and ivy bed on the slope, and beside the small rock bed of pinks and verbena, along the side of the concrete.

Purple petunias, purple verbena, and hot pink impatiens blooming together.

A light purple vinca in bloom, in a container, after a light rain.

A white vinca with red centers. I have lots of these flowers throughout my yard. They are easy to take care of, and grow well in containers on my porch and decks.

White and pink dianthus flowers in a small bed in front of a low rock wall. Although these flowers are sold as annuals, almost all of them come back and spread here, year after year. I love these flowers, with all their different colors and shades.

This is another container of mixed annuals I have in the front yard, at the base of the lamp post. I have a copper butterfly amidst all the blooms.

This is an old fashioned rose bush in my front yard. As the blooms fade, they turn a pinkish shade, while new blooms are bright red. This photo shows one of each, growing side by side.
